Final Grand Prix!

Hi Guys,

Well its the final Grand Prix of the Season this weekend and as usual there are lots of rumours about next year!

Firstly will there be an American Grand Prix next year as the workers building the new the track in Austin have gone on strike. Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has given the Austin F1 organizers until Wednesday to guarantee the race’s long-term finances or lose the race for 2012.

This is all down to a dispute over the rights to host the race and the sanctioning fee of $25 million under the original contract.

Last week we saw construction halted on the 3.4-mile circuit last week when negotiations between the track and Ecclestone stalled. About the same time, state Comptroller Susan Combs said the state would not make any advance payments for a Formula One race. So guess we will have to wait till Wednesday to see what happens!!

Secondly in the last few days there has been lots of rumours about Ruben Barrichello leaving and not returning for next years Grand Prix. This is quite sad news, as he is an icon in F1 and this Sundays Grand Prix will be his 322nd in F1; which leaves him way out in front of all other drivers and the most experienced driver in F1 history!!! It will certainly be a bad loss to F1 if he does leave.

Check out this article and see what you think:

Who is your favourite for this weekend? We have to say Lewis Hamilton!!

Enjoy the weekend and the Grand Prix if you watch!
